A divided Albemarle Board of Supervisors has approved a new budget, and the salary increase is smaller than expected for general government employees. The county supervisors voted 5-1 Wednesday for a budget that includes a 1% pay increase. The supervisors have also spared the Bright Stars and Family Support programs. The programs at Greer and Scottsville schools will continue after July first.
