Albemarle School Board Continues To Struggle With Budget

The Albemarle School Board is still trying to nail down some priorities for the next academic year. Board members say their task is difficult, because they don’t know how much state and local money they might get. They are prepared to send the County Executive a spending plan that exceeds the available revenue by nearly $6.7 million. The board has agreed to abandon a three-tiered list of potential cuts, but they want the county supervisors to know the types of programs that might be endangered. They will vote on a funding request on February 13th.
