The Albemarle Police Department is accepting applications for two additional Auxiliary Police Officers. The volunteers are sworn with limited duties. They would typically work under the supervision of another paid officer and respond to calls together. The successful candidates will train at the Police Academy in Weyers Cave. APOs go through the same application process, background check and scrutiny as paid officers. An online application is posted. You can also contact Lt. Mike Wagner (972- 4023) for more information.
