There will be new procedures for those who respond to fires in the county’s rural areas. Albemarle Fire and Rescue Chief Dan Eggleston (pictured) says this is a response to the fire near Keswick earlier this year that killed a woman and her two young children. Eggleston has told the Daily Progress there will be a standardized procedure for getting water to rural fires. He also says every major fire will have a command team on site to eliminate confusion.
