Local African-American pastors are riled up about three recent homicides in the city. Former Mayor and longtime clergyman Alvin Edwards (pictured center) discussed the violence Monday night with city councilors. The city’s most recent murder victim is 27-year-old Otis Edward Scott, who was fatally wounded Sunday on Prospect Avenue. Anti-violence groups are planning a “peace walk” in that area at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
