Advocates For Yancey Make Their Case To County Leaders

Members of a citizen committee want Yancey Elementary School to keep educating the kids who live around Esmont. Committee member Charlotte Brody says southern Albemarle residents also want Yancey to be a hub for workforce development, and provide after-school services. Former County School Board Chairman Gordon Walker (pictured) wants to approach major foundations and other organizations. A committee of advocates for Yancey met Thursday afternoon with the Albemarle Supervisors and the County School Board.
