Advisory Panel For 29 Corridor Meets With Former VDOT Commissioner

The man who’s overseeing a package of road improvements for the Route 29 corridor says things should start happening in the early fall. Philip Shucet (pictured) says VDOT should have a short list of potential contractors by late next month. Shucet says VDOT wants to begin running ads for the project in December and try to begin construction next spring. Some members of the Project Delivery Advisory Panel want to fast-track the Best Buy Ramp, which is one of the least controversial elements of the Route 29 improvements. Shucet met with that group Thursday afternoon.
