A hearing officer who works for the State ABC Board has made an initial decision to revoke the concessions license for the Lockn’ Festival in Nelson County.
The license revocation for California-based Best Beverage Catering was prompted by what the ABC Board employee calls inadequate lighting, a lax attitude towards the use of marijuana and other illicit drugs, and a permissive attitude towards public nudity. The decision is not a shocker for the organizers of next month’s four-day music event at the Oak Ridge Estate in the Arrington area of Nelson. The hearing officer’s ruling can be appealed, and Lockn’ cofounder Dave Frey has indicated that will happen. This year’s event, which happens September 4th-7th, won’t be affected.
