Work begins this fall on synchronizing the traffic signals along 29 North. That announcement comes from former VDOT commissioner Philip Shucet, who leads the advisory panel on improving Route 29. Shucet says the synchronization is vital to the upcoming reconstruction of the interchange at Rio Road and 29 North. On that topic, Shucet says the major work in the intersection of 29 and Rio will be between May and September of 2016. He’s been meeting with business owners in that area, and more meetings will be held in the future. Shucet is now a regular guest on the WINA Morning News With Rick and Jane.
