Area Residents Celebrate King Holiday

Our region’s largest tribute to the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday also doubled as a reunion. Pastors who helped to create the yearly King community celebration returned to Charlottesville on Sunday evening. They were greeted by University of Virginia President Teresa Sullivan (pictured). The event organizers surprised retired pastor Jim Bundy by giving him this year’s King Community Award. Bundy led the local Sojourners group until he retired five years ago.
