Former MLB manager, player Jim Fregosi dies after stroke

Former Major League manager Jim Fregosi has died after suffering a stroke while on a cruise for baseball fans.

Fregosi was hospitalized in Miami after suffering multiple strokes earlier this week. He passed away early Friday morning at the age of 71, according to MLB.com.

A former manager, player, and scout, Fregosi was currently an executive with the Atlanta Braves.

He had a 53-year career in major league baseball, including playing shortstop for the Angels, Pirates, Mets and Rangers.
