DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — The doctor accused of contributing to the death of Slipknot bassist Paul Gray has been acquitted of involuntary manslaughter.

The Des Moines Register reports a jury found prosecutors failed to prove Dr. Daniel Baldi was reckless in prescribing medications to patients who were clearly addicted.

Gray’s wife, Brenna, testified Baldi prescribed Xanax to her husband when Gray had a history of problems with that drug.

Baldi’s lawyer said none of the patients had high levels of the drugs Baldi had prescribed in their systems.
